ChoirWorks COVID-19 policy (updated July 2023) 

Anyone infected with COVID-19 is no longer required by government mandate to go into isolation. 

However, ChoirWorks requests singers do not attend a rehearsal for at least five days after a positive Covid test, and that they wear a mask if attending within 10 days of a positive test. 

This policy is designed to ensure the choir is able to function effectively and meet its advertised public commitments, not to mention protect the health and well-being of all its individual members and their families and associates. 

We hope everyone continues to exercise caution about the risks of spreading illness, and that anyone who develops new respiratory symptoms within five days before a rehearsal, likewise not attend. Anyone with any cold or flu-like symptoms, whether Covid-related or not, should take all reasonable and sensible steps to avoid spreading infection at all times. 

When attendance at a rehearsal is crucial in a period close to a performance, we ask that singers who are aware they may be at risk of spreading infection, wear a mask and sit in rehearsal apart from the main group of singers. 

Asymptomatic close contacts of those infected with Covid can attend rehearsals without restriction, although preferably with the security of a negative RAT immediately before the rehearsal. 

The choir requests of everyone, a responsible and active approach to limiting the spread of Covid-19 and, as part of that, to be mindful especially of the potential indirect risks to aged and vulnerable people whose survival may be at issue.
